Rather than just sad though, I'd like to say she's reconfirmed a few lessons on living and losing things: she's met a lot of wonderful people that will always be very dear to her, and she's lost some of those people, too--but I think as a constant, she's glad to have met them, and glad to be alive so she can continue to meet people she'll come to love.

I think she's become a little happier, too! it's all very subjective, to me and her both. Happiness is hard to measure.
